an 8 by 8 pan, an oven at the temperature on the box, whatever the box asks for - an egg, milk, a little oil, a pot.

What to do

1. Make the cornbread the way the box says. It takes about 25 minutes in the oven; the chili takes 5 on the stove, so do the cornbread first.
2. Heat both cans of chili while the cornbread cools enough to cut.
3. A square of cornbread in a bowl, chili over it, jalapenos on top. A fork. Nothing else.
